Going on a field trip with my gift card

Well I have decided that this morning, while the kids are at preschool, I am going to venture downtown to par ooze through our LuLuLemon store. I have had this $150 gift card in my wallet since Christmas and it has been DYING to make it's debut out in the world of LuLu. I have to think and rethink my angle of attack on this store because it has been WELL known to sneak up behind you and AMBUSH you with $90 ass slimming pants and $60 "make you look like you have cleavage" tops. I have fallen prey a few times as you may have guessed...

So today I have my plan. I only need ONE item. I need a wrist band that can hold a key in it for my 10K runs. Nothing like having a set of keys jangling around for a seeming eternity. I have only one pair of pants that has a little zipper in it so I ALWAYS have to wear those pants when I run. I need a little diversity in my run wear. I NEED a LuLuLemon wrist band.

I realize this is like a $10 item which is FINE. I want to wait until Summer to use the rest on some cute tops and ..well....maybe just a cute top..lmao.

So wish me and my resolve well as I venture off into Candyland......just follow the yellowbrick road....

*DEFEATED UPDATE*

Well darn it if I wasn't ambushed at the dang DOOR

First off I get there and it's 9:05am and as I look in the store I see people who appear to be shopping!! 9:05am?? this is rock'in!! I enter the store and everyone just stops and looks at me as though a farted in their new arrivals section. Then a guy says "uh HI but we don't open until 9:45am!" So I apologize and say I got excited when I saw movement inside and the door DID open afterall!! So I leave and now I have to think of something to do until 9 freakin 45!!

So I wander the streets in my new sandals which are starting to show their true colours of not being a full "walking sandal". I walk and walk and start looking at the people out and about at 9:10am downtown. Lots of variety here I tell ya! I got asked for change 3 times and walked past plenty of people in suits heading to work. I decide to break down and go into Starbucks for a latte and perhaps a new travel mug?? was that on the list this morning?? ah hell ya...it's lavender and at $7 it's calling my name. By this time it's 9:40am and I head back to LuLu for my wristband.

I go in and everyone is "Hey! HI! How's it GOING??!! Oh ya COME ON IN!!!" ..ya they hook you at the door with their sickly NICENESS lmao. So I go and ask a nice girlie about their wristbands and she informs me that they have been sold out of them for MONTHS and probably won't get any in for awhile. Ummm..ok....my mind, as if on CRACK....switches to PLAN B.

Now Plan B is to start scavenging the store like a fashion starved housewife which I did quite nicely. I went and tried on my first pair of brown Capri's only to find that **GASP** a 10 was too BIG! too BIG?? whaa?? this cannot be true!! So as you MUST understand by now, I HAD to purchase these pants because they were in a SURPRISE smaller size and a single digit at that!! So that was a done deal...move onto the jackets. I find a lovely tangerine coloured shorter jacket that was just a perfect fit from zip one. I convince myself that I NEED this jacket...I have never owned a LuLuLemon jacket and the entire city has at least one in their closet so I must too.

I go to the checkout and find a nice thick, black hairband that would complement everything PERFECTLY. Grande totale? $200.58 ...yes people 3 items...$200 My gift card is for $150 so I easily rationalize the extra $50 and the Visa ignites once again....

I feel great tho. These are clothes that will last a LONG time and wash/wear very well (rationalizing again) So gift card is *POOF* gone and now I have to pray for my birthday to come SOOOOON.
