I am SOOO happy that the weather has finally (and I mean FINALLY) turned around from the awful Winter and sopping Spring we endured over here on the West Coast. I mean it got PRETTY bad here. Ice storms and WIND..omg the wind....I have never in my LIFE seen anything like that! It certainly separated the weak from the strong for the trees around here! Spring is usually wet and gross and then we get a "so-so" Summer. Well not THIS Summer ...this Summer is turning into a BANNER year!
At work we have A/C going all day so you never really get to venture into the climate and see what the temp is outside. Well let me tell you today?? today was INSANELY hot for here. I got home and it was 40 (104) on our deck outside. That probably doesn't seem too hot for people reading. They are used to that and much hotter. But for here the norms are about mid 80's..not much higher so hardly anyone has A/C in their homes, only in businesses and dept stores. So to see 40 on our deck, one starts to get a little sweaty around the thong.
I am currently sitting here in a BALMY house at about 90 degrees typing this with no cool air in sight listening to Olivia Newton-John's "Let's Get Physical" ..I remember seeing that video and thinking it was about exercise...oh to be that naive again. The kids have fans on and cotton sheets over them. Hopefully I will not hear from them until the morning.
In related news to getting up, my son has been giving us a run for our money in the getting up at night dept. He has been getting up for about 45 mins AFTER we put him to bed and then coming into our room at 2-3am. The other night he came in about 10-15 times from 1:50am-4:30am and got up at 6am. Omg. We were to say the least, frustrated and ANGRY. So I came up with my chart idea. He is a very "Type A" child and like things in place, order and rewards (what kid doesn't?) So I thought if I made up a bedtime chart that we put stickers on for each night he stayed in bed ALL night, that he would get onto it and STAY IN BED. The ultimate goal. Last night we tried but he got up once so no sticker. Tonight he hasn't been out at ALL so I may need to break those stickers out finally!! YEEEHAW!! We also gave him a digital clock and said he is NOT allowed to come out until there is a "6" for the first number" I can handle 6 o'clock visits...2 am?? not so much. Let's hope this idea works and I can sell my new found invention to Fisher Price for a small fortune, quit work, pay off the mortgage, get the implants and travel the world with my well behaved, sleeping thru the night children.
Sound too good to be true? ehh I'll be the half full girl today.
P.S. 2 days until my Vancouver Blogger Girl's Weekend!!! Bring your string bikini's ladies...there will be ALOT of time spent by the pool with our martinis. WHEW!!

Duct tape, some transformer toys, and wine for YOU.
See you soon! We can feel all guilty (a little) for leaving things and little people with the guys, but it's nothing that a little wine, chocolate and friendships can't fix.
MWAH! I have diarrhea now! lol
thanks for sharing Lee.....
