1. So we have found that taking dd to the park to run off some of her energy before preschool helps to settle her faster so she can focus sooner in the class. The teachers have said it is "night and day" since we started doing this...well at least we have found something that works! So I looked at my watch this morning and saw we only had 10 mins! no time for park, so we go out the front of the house to burn them out. After running around the driveway for about a minute (lol) I saw the child sized but HARD basketball and hoop and thought "hey YEAH..let's play basketball!" So I say to Gareth "here buddy put your hands together to catch the ball" and he says "no it's too hard". Ummm hello? catching a ball too hard for my little NBA'er? but my daring daughter jumps in and says "I'll catch it Mom!!" so I toss the ball up gently (we are only 3 feet apart) and what do YOU think happens????......YUP it bounces off her arm into her FACE and she got quite a good thump from the ball in the nose! ohhhh bad mom....maybe back to running around the yard @@.
2. I was soo proud of my little guy this morning!! He has to write his name every morning he comes into preschool to sign in and until this morning I don't think that it was ever legible. We worked Wednesday afternoon and yesterday to practice using a pencil and writing it ON THE LINE and not making one letter small and the next HUMONGOUS. He did, quite frankly, AWESOME!! All letters within a reasonable size and totally legible!! WOOT for LITTLE MAN!!!
3. I am going OUT tonight. When I say "OUT" it is out with the girls for a going away party. It is with another dental office that I MAY be interested in working at but not sure yet. Maybe after meeting more of the staff I will feel more at home...we'll see! At any rate, it's NO KIDS, NO DH, FREE food and drinks and FUN LADIES!! COUNT ME IN!! (and P.S. thanks Mom for babysitting..I owe you HUGE!) (P.P.S. Oh and DH...you know I love ya but we both know how important our "away" times are and it only makes us appreciate each other more ;) )
4. After a LONG wait I received my FULL on visit from AF last night at around 4:23am. I awoke to a strange sensation and kinda looked around and thought "wtf?" and then it DAWNED on me......RUN FOREST RUN...and I did, just in time. Happy June 1st to me. Enough said.
5. It is another gorgeous day here and I CHERISH these few hours on preschool mornings. I can just putter around the house cleaning with NO interruptions of "Carys stuck her tongue out at me LOTS of times!!" or "Moooom, Gara pushed me!" It is mainly alot of Gareth telling on Carys and I get to the point of after hearing "Moooom, Carys..." I want to go and jump off the nearest ledge. So I have 2 hours of peace, quiet and BLISS!! I have picked up the upper floor, started the dishwasher, put in a load of laundry and mopped the hardwood floors. A feeling of accomplishment has come over me and I am now going to sit on my deck in the morning sunshine and drink my freshly brewed coffee and breathe in the fresh air for the remaining 1 hr and 4 minutes....
