Out comes the sun and the wallet...

Well I have wanted to update our patio set for AGES. I bought DH a patio set for HIS home (me not even living there at the time) for his birthday waaay back in the late 90's I think and it has weathered the storm baby. Made it thru 8-10 winters and summers and it's showing the WEAR. The top of the cushioned chairs are all apart or coming apart and it's a circle table and has only 4 chairs. So when the Home Depot flyer came out and I saw the new patio sets I was DROOLING on the paper!!

So we go out there today to look for....uhhh....PAINT yeah that's it!! We need to look at paint!!..hehe...dh is still naive to my wicked ways. Well we get there and I see the set and they have a special on right now that you will have no interest for ONE YEAR!! ONE YEAR people!!! what a BARGAIN!!! lol. Plus you get a $20 gift certificate (big whoop). Well we sit in it and dream....and DH gets his CELL phone out to calculate monthly costs which is ALWAYS a good sign...means we are moving onto step 2 which is getting a trolley!! YIPPEE!!! So he says "$40 a month" and I was "$40?? omg that's NOTHING..we can sooo swing that!!" So with some convincing we went and found a trolley!! (I still have it ladies!!!)

We get up to the cashier and DH doesn't have his Home Depot card with him but has his drivers license and apparently that's all they need. WRONG!! Lady phones there and asks Dh the home phone number on the card.....DH always puts his cell phone numbers on EVERYTHING, never gives out our home number. So he has changed his cell phone since he got the card and cannot remember it for the love of god. Guy on phone is saying "no number, no patio set" and Dh is getting a bit pissed saying that's it's ridiculous that he has his DRIVER'S LICENSE here and they are squabbling over a phone number?? So we were waiting in line going back and forth for oh about...30 minutes NO LIE. We had tonnes of time to spare when we got there, now all of a sudden we are getting close to the "get to preschool and get the kids" time. So FINALLY they figure something out..DH faxes them his new number from Home Depot...omg.... seriously?

So now we have our new set at home (WAHOOOOEEEE) and it's supposed to be a lovely weekend!! It's a nice square patio set with a dolly in the middle and the chairs bounce a bit if you kwim..they have give to them. LOVE them. SIX chairs, instead of 4 and lots of room to read the paper or have people over. All and all a very exciting, aggravating and expensive morning but I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!
